PhD projects of PigIT
The budget of PigIT includes funding for four PhD projects corresponding to the methodological themes of the alliance. The titles of the projects are:
- Automatic learning and pattern recognition using sensor data. The project is hosted at University of Copenhagen under the supervision of Professor Nils Toft.
- Methods for prioritization of alarms and intervention. The project is hosted at University of Copenhagen under the supervision of Professor Anders Ringgaard Kristensen.
- Optimization methods in a stochastic production environment. The project is hosted at Aarhus University under the supervision of Associate Professor Lars Relund Nielsen.
- Evolutionary operations as a tool for improving welfare and productivity. The project is hosted at Aarhus University under the supervision of Chief Scientist Erik Jørgensen.
A more detailed description of the projects is given in a separate document. The four PhD scolarships will be advertised in the autumn of 2012 (probably in september).
In addition to the four projects directly funded by the alliance, a Dutch PhD project entitled Bayesian Networks for Bio-monitoring is associated to the project under the supervision of Professor Linda C. van der Gaag at Uthrect University. It is funded by the Dutch research council "NWO Exacte Wetenschappen".
